User Generated Content (UGC)

User-Generated Content (UCG) is simply any content that is created by the user of a website or app rather than the webmaster, editor or owner of the website or app. The content can take any form whatsoever, from a comment or a status update to a video or drawing.  

UCG became popular in the second wave of the internet’s development, in the 2000s. Websites such as YouTube and Instagram are perhaps the most famous examples of platforms that support and encourage UGC. This content can also be added to any website that is built with an interactive feature.

Anchor Text
Anchor text is the text highlighted by a hyperlink. The words highlighted are crucial for SEO, informing Google’s crawling bots about the content of the site linked to.
